UAlberta delegation visits CAAS graduate school
On March 30, 2017, Dr. Luo Changfu, Vice President of CAAS graduate school, met with the delegation from University of Alberta (UAlberta), Canada, headed by Dr. Vic Adamowicz, Vice Dean of Agriculture, Life &Environmental Sciences, along with his two colleagues for the international student programs.
After a brief introduction of the academy’s research as well as the graduate school’s latest development, especially in international students and joint Ph.D. training program, Dr. Luo further proposed the two institutions to develop an agreement on student exchange and a joint training program in the near future.
Dr. Vic Adamowicz endorsed Luo’s suggestion and gave a short presentation about UAlberta. The two sides reached a consensus on the next cooperation by starting, as the first step, faculty and student exchange so as to have a better understanding of each other’s research and priority.
Dr. Qiu Dewen, Deputy Director of Institute of Plant Protection (IPP), Dr. Xu Minggang, Deputy Director of Institute of Agricultural Resources and Regional Planning (IARRP), and Dr. Wu Fuqing from the Institute of Crop Sciences (ICS) attended the meeting.
Before the meeting at graduate school, Dr. Vic Adamowicz and his colleagues were welcomed by Dr. Liu Chunming, Director of the Institute of Crop Science (ICS), with a tour to the National Crop Gene Bank.
